Have you ever felt like you have been stuck in your life? Have you felt like your life has stopped some point in life and you can’t move forward, even if you want to, or feel like “I am stupid, I cannot solve problems”? If yes, then you for sure, you have been stuck in your life.
Life is never easy for anyone. Everyone has to face the hard times, situations and difficulties. Many times in life we face such situation, we think we cannot face, we want to solve problems but cannot. But that’s not a problem. Being stuck in a hard situation is not a problem, staying in that situation is the problem. Almost everyone suffers from this problem once or twice in their lives.
Let me share my few experiences with you.
Like any other normal human being, I also suffered many problems and emotional breakdowns in my life. When I was a teenager, almost 16, my house got caught on fire. At that time, I was not able to save my house and all my family belongs were destroyed. This was a huge loss for me and my family. During my college days, once my car was taken away from me and due to financial ups and downs, I had no place to stay and was homeless for a short period of time.
It was a tough time in my life but did not lose courage and managed to survive in hard conditions. A human can bear financial losses but the loss of dear ones can never be filled and it is very difficult to live without those you love the most. I was in my early twenties when I lost my best friend. It was one of the most difficult times of my life. For a period of time, I was stuck in my life but I managed to move out of that situation. We all need to learn that. We all have faced problems but these problems are not the end of the life
Always look or try to look at the bright side and remember Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines. Robert Schuller once said, “Tough times don’t last, tough people, do.” Getting stuck means this is the time to bring a change in your life.
There are many reasons for getting stuck in life. Maybe you are too judgmental, pessimistic about yourself or you are too afraid to take a big decision in life. Maybe you are suffering from work life problems or emotional traumas but whenever you feel stuck, you need to get out of the situation.
Here are a few suggestions, based on my personal experiences that might help you move forward in life.
Embrace the situation:
There are two main problems with the people stuck in their life. Either they do not accept the fact that they are stuck or they are so disappointed that they embrace the situation and do nothing to change it. Too many problems and very long time of feeling stuck cause them to give up. You have embrace the situation. Your denial will not change it but only make it worse. Remember “Life is 10% what happens to me and 90% of how I react to it,” said Charles Swindoll. So never give up and move on.
Take a break:
If you are feeling stuck and can’t decide what to do, then take a deep breath, relax and take a short break from your work. Go for a walk, play your favorite games or plan a trip and deviate your focus from work. Sometimes it is good to take a break and think who you are and what you want to be. The break will really fresh your mind, make a stronger connection between outer and inner you. You will be able to think more clearly. Just remember that you are the most important in your life.
Understand the problem:
Just try to understand what the actual problem is, why you are feeling stuck and can’t move forward. Most of the time problem is that too many people like to live in the past. Either they keep remembering their beautiful past or they can’t forget or forgive themselves for their mistake.
Getting stuck in life means something is wrong and now it’s time to change. Keep the past in the past and step forward. Most importantly listen to yourself. You are the best advisor to yourself. Your inner voice can never be wrong. Listen to it. Intelligent people use this bad time as a chance to understand their needs and improve their anxiousness and forward.
Change your attitude:
Norman Vincent Peale said, on an occasion, Change your thoughts and you change your world. A lot of patience, commitment and sacrifices are required to face the situation and take an action to change it. But patience is mainly required to change our attitude and perspectives. Many times, attitude and point of views of the people become an important factor in creating a problem. Changing them can solve the issues of being stuck in life. You should change your attitude, thoughts and try viewing things from a different and positive perspective. Just keep in your mind that you have to beat the problem and move forward in life. Only you can do it for yourself. Stick to the positive attitude until the problems are solved and always stay positive.
Take risks and overcome the fear of losing:
Hard times often make many people lose their courage. The loss, either financial or emotional, makes them think many times before taking any action or making a decision. People feel like they would lose and thus avoid to take risks. This fear of losing is often the root cause of the people for being stuck in life. According to Albert Einstein, “A person who never made a mistake never tried anything new”. Amelia Earhart also quoted that “the most difficult thing is the decision to act, the rest is merely tenacity”. People must try new ways and method to unstuck, take risks and face the problems. No doubt precautions are necessary but precautions and fears are two different things. Remember it takes courage to grow up and meet the real you. Don’t hesitate and take risks and as a result, either you will win or you will learn a lesson for life. In any case your life will move towards a change which is direly required.
Seek help and support:
Taking help from your family, friends and professional mates in a difficult time is a good step for improving the situations. If you need emotional support, keep in mind that your family and friends are with you. Different communities can be a great help. In case of financial crises, spending time with experienced people in your field can help you keep focused and think in a more creative way. Sharing your experiences with others and listening to them can help you a lot getting out of troubles.
Those who hope against hope are always successful. Whenever you feel stuck in your business, always remember why you started all this. It’s a Lyndon B. Johnson saying that yesterday is not ours to recover, but tomorrow is ours to win or lose. So never give up and stay motivated that one day these problems will come to an end and you will be back on the right track again.
Belief in yourself:
In the last but not the least believe in yourself. “Remember no one can make you feel inferior without your consent”. —Eleanor Roosevelt. Just think you can do it and you have covered half of your distance. Remember that it’s you who has the ability to change your fate. Nothing remains permanent in life my friend. Situations will change, life will change. You just need a little courage and hope to bring that change buddy. You must always keep in mind that you should not be a product of the circumstances, you should be the product of your own decisions and choices.
Remember hard time makes legends. It is a little weird to say but be thankful when you face a problem. Accept them as a gift and face them like a challenge. To beat the problems and getting out of stuck life is an act of bravery. They will make you stronger day by day. History only includes those who changed to beat their problems and conquered them. No problem can be greater than your determination and willpower. So don’t wait, suit up, beat them and one day you will be proudly telling your stories to your grandchildren. I believe in you in I see nothing but greatness inside of you so get up and stay up.
